The Farwest Show, Aug. 20-22, Portland, Ore. is the largest green industry trade show in the west and one of the premier shows in the country. Now more than ever, garden center owners and managers should experience the show. In addition to visiting with more than 450 nursery growers under one roof, the show offers a robust educational track each morning before the show opens. This year, more intensive retail workshops are offered in a team learning environment.
Linda Cahan, nationally known retail design strategist, focuses on affordable store design and emotional and sensory merchandising on Thursday, Aug. 20. Garden center professionals will take the opportunity to network as they collaborate on various fantasy gift shop designs.
Garden Centers of America is producing the Visual Merchandising Workshop offered on Saturday, Aug. 22. Aaron Shriver, boutique designer and visual merchandiser for Monrovia, will lead a dynamic hands-on workshop where participants work together to build store displays.
